2007 8th grade Les Chats

The Les Chats 8th graders finished in 2nd place in the KC Premiere/MAYB Basketball Tournament this weekend. They lost by one in the Championship Game on a three pointer as the horn sounded. This was the first loss of the season as they now stand at 12 wins and 1 loss for the year.
DaShawn Harden, Sydney Catlett and Nelly Weledji led the team in scoring. Lili Prince, Lexi Irons and Marissa Rodriguez led the team in rebounding.
It was great having Sydney Catlett back for the entire weekend. She was hitting her three point shots, driving and dribbling very well.
Audrey Thrasher played for the first time this year in the Championship game and played very well. Her rebounding, scoring and all around play have been missed.
March 18th, 2007
The 8th Grade Les Chats won both pool play games, but lost to the T-Town Ballers out of Topeka, Kansas in the final 32-37. Les Chats could not hold on to an 18-17 halftime lead. (2nd Place)
The 5th Grade Les Chats won 2 and lost 1 as well, but ended up in 3rd place in the 6th grade MAYB Tournament.

Great Job by the 8th Grade Team ! They finished 3rd in the 9th grade tournament in Columbia, Mo. They lost to the 9th grade SW Mo. Sting (The 2006 MAYB National Summer Champions as 8th graders) in the semi-finals by 3 points. The girls played incredible defense and took the lead in the 3rd quarter 26-25 after falling behind 0-8 to start the game. Audrey and Marissa shut down the Stings Center, Nelly scored 16 points, Lili 4, Madison 3, Marissa 3, Audrey 2 and Kari 1. Sydney did a great job of getting the ball past double and triple teams to set up the offense. I big THANKS to Kari from Macon, Mo. (she helped us with subs on very short notice!) ....

Top Ten: Free throws in one game, FT's made in tournament, total points scored.

Nelly- 1st in team scoring, top 3pt shooter in tourney, Named to "The Big Show" All American Team- Way to go !!!

2008- 6th grade took 3rd place in KC Keys Tournament. Defeated St. Louis Swarm.
2008- U11 2nd Place in March 28- 30 AAU Super Regionals. Defeated both Blazers.
